About
Meet Mrs. Grace
Hi! I'm Mrs. Grace. I graduated from Ave Maria University in 2019 with a major in Music and minors in Economics and Catechetics. In 2022, I completed my Master's degree in Music Education from William Carey University. I've been teaching private music lessons for over 12 years.
My goal for students is to inspire a love of music while building a strong musical foundation. Every student is different, so I take an individual approach to lessons, but the fundamentals stay the same for everyone: solid technique, careful reading, and steady habits at the instrument. Whether you're learning your first notes or preparing repertoire for college auditions, we'll build those skills together and create a personalized practice plan that works with your schedule.
I am married to my husband, Leo, and we have three children. I taught grades 6–12 music, including string orchestra, at Mason Classical Academy for two years. I now stay home to homeschool my children.

The songs you want to play
Classical pieces such as Für Elise, plus hymns, movie themes, and pop. Bring the piece you love and we'll build the technique to play it properly.
Classical foundation
Scales, sight-reading, theory, and repertoire that hold up. This is the groundwork that makes everything else easier.
Violin & string orchestra
Bow hold, intonation, shifting, and ensemble skills from a teacher who taught school orchestra for two years.
College audition prep
Repertoire selection, polish, and performance nerves, on a timeline built backward from your audition dates.
Homeschool & adult schedules
Daytime slots for homeschool students, evening slots for adults returning to an instrument they miss.

Step Up For Students approved provider
Eligible Florida families can put scholarship funds toward lessons with Mrs. Grace. Lessons are listed in the EMA marketplace under Elective Courses → Music Lessons, so funds go straight to the lessons with no out-of-pocket cost.

FAQ
Questions parents ask
How old does my child need to be to start?
Most students start piano around age 5, and violin around age 7, since violin asks a bit more of a child physically. Readiness matters more than a birthday, though. If your child can sit and focus for about twenty minutes and follow simple directions, they're ready to try. Adult beginners are welcome too.
Do we need our own instrument?
Yes, you'll need something to practice on at home. For piano, an acoustic piano or a full-size weighted keyboard both work. For violin, a properly sized rental from a local shop is the usual starting point, and I'll help you get the right size.
Where do lessons happen?
I come to you. All lessons are taught in your home, at your own instrument. Text me your address and I'll confirm availability.
How much practice is expected?
We build the practice plan around your real week, not an ideal one. Beginners usually do well with ten to fifteen minutes a day, five days a week. Students preparing auditions practice considerably more.
Do you teach homeschool families?
Yes. I homeschool my own children, and I keep daytime slots open for homeschool students.
Can I use Step Up For Students funds for lessons?
Yes. I'm an approved Step Up For Students provider, so eligible families can put scholarship funds toward lessons. You'll reserve funds through your EMA account, and I'm happy to walk you through the steps. Just text or email me.
How much do lessons cost?
Lessons are $100 for a full hour, taught in your home, with no registration fee. That rate is the same for every student. Message me with your location and I'll check availability and reserve a weekly time.
What if we need to miss a lesson?
Let me know as far ahead as you can and we'll find a makeup time when the schedule allows.
